MATHS COMICS

The "BD maths" exhibition offers an original encounter between mathematics and comics.

Through excerpts from Alexandre Kha's The Fateful Theorem, visitors discover the story of Fermat's famous last theorem. The exhibition is enhanced by 11 mathematical puzzles (pentaminos, sliding puzzles, etc.) designed by Étienne Lécroart, a comic book artist and mathematics enthusiast. These interactive elements transform the visit into a playful and visual experience.

The earthenware of Ardus and Négrepelisse

In Lamothe-Capdeville, on the Aveyron near Montauban, François Duval, Baron d'Ardus and formidable businessman, created in 1737 a pottery factory which operated for nearly 180 years and received the coveted title of "royal manufactory". Almost fifty years later, in Nègrepelisse, another businessman, Jean Viguié, founded in turn an ambitious workshop which, on the contrary, would operate for barely twenty years, not without difficulties.

Despite the importance of these earthenware pieces, which were exported in large quantities far beyond our region and are now barely known to ceramic enthusiasts, no exhibition had ever been dedicated to them.

Brought together for the first time, 350 objects, mostly unpublished, reveal the scale and variety of the production of these private companies whose history has been entirely reviewed and rewritten.

BEWARE, GHOSTS!

For the past few days, the abbey has been in turmoil: Ghosts have been seen… The terrified staff are at their wits' end trying to drive away these unwanted guests who, although dead, are making life impossible for the living.
An exceptional measure has therefore been taken. A massive influx of volunteers will be mobilized for this exceptional night. Come in large numbers to help these new inhabitants find eternal rest.
Welcome then, but only if you are ready for anything, even to be afraid. Will you be able to see them, will you be able to understand them, will you be able to soothe them? The abbey is counting on you.
